❤ 4 Simple tips to keep your skin looking great! ❤

✿ Hey, guys! Today I would like to share 4 simple tips that I personally follow to keep my skin clear. These tips should work for all skin types!

1) Wash your face at least twice a day (BUT no more than 3 times a day), every morning and every night. MAKE SURE that your face is squeaky clean before you go to bed, especially if your wear make-up! Your skin rejuvenates itself when you are asleep, so you don't want the make-up to clog your pores.

2) Use a moisturizer everyday, regardless of your skin-type or age. When we wash our face, we strip our skin of all the moisture, so by applying a moisturizer you are putting that moisture back into the skin.
MYTH: A person with oily skin does not need moisturizer because its already oily.
MYTH-BUSTER: ALL skin-types need moisturizer even the oily/combination skin. Let me explain why. When your face is dry, your skin responds by producing oil because it does not like to be dry. So, when people with oily-skin don't apply moisturizer, what will happen is that their skin will become more oily than what they started out with.

3) Apply a sunscreen EVERYDAY, regardless of the weather. The harmful sun-rays are present even if its cloudy or raining. Sun damage is the number 1 cause of aging and the UV-rays can also cause skin cancer! So, its in your best interest to apply sunscreen everyday and not just on your face but your whole body. On the other hand, don't let this stop you from enjoying the sunshine because the sun's energy helps our bodies create vitamin D. The sun’s energy turns a chemical in your skin into vitamin D3, which is carried to your liver and then your kidneys to transform it to active vitamin D. To protect yourself, avoid the summer sunshine, especially between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Whenever possible, wear a large-brimmed hat and a tightly woven, dark-colored long-sleeve shirt and long pants when you go out in the sun.

4) STOP stressing! Stress can affect your whole body, including your skin, hair, and nails. Have you ever noticed that when you are stressed, you break out more? This is because stress causes your body to produce cortisol and other hormones, which tells your sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Oily skin is more prone to acne and other skin problems. There's a simple solution to this problem - Laughter! Studies show that laughter dissolves stressful emotions and it relaxes your whole body. Laughter makes you feel good. And the good feeling that you get when you laugh remains with you even after the laughter subsides. Humor helps you keep a positive, optimistic outlook through difficult situations, disappointments, and loss.
